Baruch Jeremaiah Reading Challenge

The Baruch & Jeremiah (BJ) On-Site Reading Challenge: Asaba Gathering

Project Overview: The Local Kick-off Event

Following the successful global launch, Dr. Ken Katas hosted a crucial physical gathering: the Baruch & Jeremiah (BJ) On-Site Reading Challenge on December 20, 2025, in Asaba, Delta State.

This event was designed to personally introduce the core concepts of The Journey of Jesus as a Student and the accompanying Workbook to local teens, youths, and parents, providing them with the motivation and resources to begin their faith-based formation journey immediately.

What Was Done?

The challenge was structured as a high-energy, interactive session aimed at immediate practical application:

1. Introduction to the 11 Biblical Habits

Dr. Katas gave a dynamic presentation from Zoom to everyone present onsite, moving beyond theory to explain the practical relevance of the 11 Biblical Habits (e.g., Sacred Silence, Purity of Heart, Stewardship of Time) and how mastering these practices leads directly to academic focus and moral strength.

2. Hands-on Reading and Workbook Engagement

Participants were engaged in a compulsory 1-hour uninterrupted reading and guided through key sections of the workbook, learning how to utilize the gamified elements like XP (Experience Points), Virtue Badges, and the Purity Code to make spiritual growth measurable, competitive, and fun.

3. Live Q&A and Commitment

The session included a powerful Q&A segment where teens and parents could interact directly with Dr. Katas, tackling real-world challenges related to discipline, distraction, and purity. Participants were encouraged to make a public commitment to starting the Jesus Way journey.

4. Massive Book Giveaway

As a highlight, over 200 copies of The Journey of Jesus as a Student and the Workbook were distributed free of charge to physically present attendees, ensuring hundreds of local youths could begin the 70-day challenge immediately.
